Clinical application of neonatal instantaneous heart rate monitoring (Part one: neonatal instantaneous heart rate response to apnea).

چکیده
Introduction; Fetal monitoring of instantaneous heart rate (IHR) is one of major advances in recent perinatal medicine. It is widely accepted that changing pattern of fetal IHR associated with uterine contraction will reflect fetal well or ill being. Uterine contraction produces temporary hypoxia to the fetus and apnea does the same to the neorlate. Therefore we analysed changing patterns of neonatal IHR ässociated with apnea to investigate if there are similar clinical meanings äs does the fetal monitoring.

Investigating Effect of Olfactory Stimulation by Vanilla on the Rate of Apnea Attacks in Neonates with Apnea of Prematurity: A Randomized Clinical Trial
Background Apnea of prematurity (AOP) is a developmental disorder that affects the premature newborns frequently. One of the new non-drug methods for controlling apnea attacks is olfactory stimulation. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of olfactory stimulation by vanilla on the rate of apnea attacks in neonates with AOP. Materials and Methods: This study is a single-blind random...

The manifestations of this disease in neonatal period include congenital heart block, cutaneous leasions, liver disease, thrombocytopenia, Neutropenia, pulmonary and nurologic derangements. Most of the clinical manifestations ofter disappear spontaneously. Although congenital heart block is usually permanent, and often require pacemakers. Congenital he...
متن کاملAnalysis of Heart Rate Variability During Meditative and Non-Meditative State Using Analysis of Variance
In this paper the main objective is to quantify and compare the instantaneous value of heart rate for normal breathing patterns during Meditation and Non Meditation conditions. This paper involves Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) technique for the analysis of the heart rate variability patterns during the meditative and non meditative states. The analysis is divided into three stages i.e. data acqu...
متن کاملRecognition and response to electronic fetal heart rate patterns: impact on newborn outcomes and primary cesarean delivery rate in women undergoing induction of labor.
OBJECTIVE The objective of the study was to examine the clinical impact of specific fetal monitoring-related practices during induced labor. STUDY DESIGN This was a prospective, nonrandomized study. RESULTS We studied 14,398 women undergoing oxytocin induction of labor. A decrease in the infusion rate of oxytocin in the face of specified category II fetal heart rate tracings was associated ...
متن کامل[Neonatal apnea]
OBJECTIVE: To review medical literature related to apnea of prematurity. SOURCES: Extensive literature search and clinical practice-oriented concepts. SUMMARY OF THE FINDINGS: Apnea is one of the most common respiratory disorders in the neonatal period. Immaturity of the central nervous system is associated with instability of respiration. Therefore, apnea manifests itself in other systems, cau...
